I bought this lens to use on my Nikon FE and Olympus OMD E-M5, mainly for the E-M5. I wanted a long zoom that I could use for local birding around my areas, but not BIF. And for Zoo photos of the animals. I also needed a lens that similar IQ from 100mm - 300mm and while shooting at f/5.6. This lens DELIVERS !!!
The weight is under 2lbs at 1.7lbs, the all medal casing only adds 1/2lbs from current 70-300mm AF 2 touch zooms. The size is similar to current 70-300mm AF zooms, at 300mm.
You can find this lens from a low that will not be mint, $65.00 to a high of around $185.00 for one in mint condition. Mine at $65.00 has a small filter ring dent that will cost me $10 to get fixed locally.
Oh, one last thing, for a 20-25 year old lens, My Zoom "Does Not" creep at any zoom setting, when facing straight down !! Having a one touch with internal zooming has advantages as far as that goes.
