This lens is a home run for Olympus! Coming from Canon APS-C cameras and lenses, I can only compare this with the EFS 10-22 (a high grade but expensive ultra wide). At an equivalent FL of around 15mm, the EFS 10-22 is no match for this prime, while being much larger, slower and heavier. Optically, the 12f2 is sharper wide open than the EFS lens is at f8! As my primary use for my cameras is for hiking and outdoors, using the 12f2 has opened up whole new worlds of uses: Having a compact and fast ultrawide mounted to a stabilized body like my OMD allows for handholding down to 1/8th of a second without worry (at best, my 50D with the 10-22 necessitated 1/60th of a second while at a max aperture of around 4.5 vs f2 for the Oly). The result: shots that work in 5 stops less light! That, plus it's outstanding sharpness, contrast and handling make this a no-brainer (if you can afford it).
