I had this lens for a short time, and was very, very impressed with speed of focus and results. I just don't shoot wide enough to justify the price for me -- but if you do shoot wide, I highly recommend it.
My issues with it are price and build quality, as with the 14-150 which I sold this lens to purchase.

I rate this a "9" as a super zoom. Of course, there are better lenses, and it's a 4-5.6, but as a daylight, carry-everywhere all-in-one, it's great. It replaces my 14-42. The one negative, IMO, is build quality.
I haven't yet done extensive testing, but I'm happy with the results at the long end.
The Panasonic 45-200 I had lacked contrast and was soft at the long end. This lens doesn't shoot as long, but it seems to me to have better contrast and is sharper at full zoom.
It is much sharper than the 14-42 kit in my experience.
Looking at the test results at DPR, those results confirm in spades my impression vs. the kit, and also shows sharper than the Panny kit and even the ZD 50mm macro! It's not as sharp as the Panny 14-140 on the wide end, but they even out at the long end.
You just can't appreciate how compact this lens is until you have it. It is the SAME length as the kit fully extended, and adds no appreciable weight to the camera.
My only complaint about the lens is the build quality. To keep it light weight, it's plasticky, which just makes me concerned about the long-term staying power.
For me, though, this lens with the 20/1.7 almost completes what I need for my EP1. I just need Oly to release a new mZD 50mm 2.0 macro, and I'll have the lenses I want for this system.
If you can afford it, and get over the plastic lens issue, this is a great all-around lens for travel. Put this on your Oly and the 20m 1.7 in your pocket, and you are set for just about any occasion.
p.s. for those who have the Oly mZD 9-18. This lens is very comparable. I had the 9-18, but I just don't shoot wide enough. I'm more a medium telephoto type. But this lens and the 9-18 are essentially twins in focus speed, silent operation, sharpness and compact size.

I am comparing this to an OM 50mm 3.5 macro and some 50 1.4 portraits.
Many of my older 50mm 1.4 are soft at 1.4, so they must be stopped down, and then the specular highlights start getting angular. The 50mm 2.0 macro is sharp enough at 2.0 that you can get sharper results and better bokeh before stopping down. The OM 3.5 macro is just as good for macro, but at f/3.5 doesn't double as a portrait lens as much.
The results are very nice, but the challenges are weight (a little heavy) and cost (for an old MF lens). The other two issues are it stops down in whole stops on my RJ adapter, and the focus travel distance from 3 meters to infinity is very small (about 7mm around the barrel), so it can sometimes be finicky to focus at a distance, but it's great for head shots and macro.
