Hey Ned,
Got a quick question for you regarding Olympus Flashes... I am deciding to let go of my Pentax gear and move 100% to Oly/m43... I'd like to get an Oly flash and have been looking at the 600 flr... What are your thoughts on that flash. I am fairly newbie with flash so I will probably be on auto for bit or until i get use to the flash on my e-p3...
Thanks

Hi Ned--
I noticed in your signature you had both the VF2 and VF3 viewfinders. I was wondering your opinions on these, because I am thinking of getting one to help me MF some adapted glass.
Thanks,
Jack

Well the sale for the P3 fell through. Went ahead and ordered a Refurb PM1. Really looking forward to the new body...

Thanks Ned...the deal is not done yet.. but if it all goes well, I may have a new to me E-P3... the m43s have really impressed me and I am using the PL1 now.. I have a K-5 dslr now.. but the more and more i get into m43s I am thinking that it will eventually have to go... dunno..
But thanks again man.. I really appreciate it... I have seen your posts from time to time and you just know a lot about these cameras.. that is why I hit you up for advice...
Again much thanks!

Hey Ned,
Got a question for you.... As you know I am looking for a 2nd body to use with my MF Lenses (CMounts, Pentax Glass ). My price cap is $200... I found a EP3 with the shutter count around 12000 for $235... Should I still look at the E-PM1? I have pretty much decided on the 3rd gen bodies... since the next gen has the new sensor and that is way more than i want to spend a the moment.
What do you think?

Ned, You always seem to have the opinions that make the most sense on these forums!
Sold my EPL1 kit, need something fast (have a family shoot on Friday), trying to decide between:
1. Oly EP3 with kit lens for $499
2. Sony Nex 5N for $440
3. Sony Nex 5R for $571
4. Oly EPM1 for $320 with kit lens
Really on a budget, would any of the kit lenses work for a family photo shoot?
Buying the EPM1 would allow for the purchase of something like the Panny 20mm, but
just wonder If clients would get the wrong idea If I show up to a shoot with such a small combo? Just really don't want to go the Canon/Nikon route again, even though it seems that people assume because the size of the camera what caliber of photographer you are (even though i know this to be untrue).
Thanks
Jet

Ned - thanks for the advice. I didn't realize that lens design had more to do with fast AF speed--thought it was all down to the AF features in the body. Guess I have to bite the bullet and get rid of the last bit of my beloved 4/3 system and sell the 70-300 as well!

Ned:
Wanted to get your perspective as a fellow Oly user( 4/3 and m4/3). I used my m43 equipment at an airshow for the first time yesterday. Two biggest challenges vs. my trusty (but now sold) E-500 were slower autofocus and continuous hunting using the 4/3 Zuiko 70-300 with the Panny MA-1 adapter on either my E-PL1 or E-P2, as well as inability to follow fast moving jets continuously via the EVF. Re the former issue, guess I just need to set the image preview to OFF; for the latter issues I am now debating whether it would be better to sell the 70-300 and get a native Panny 100-300 (the Olympus m43 70-300 is too expensive) or keep the lens and get a faster focusing Oly body. Refurbed E-PM1s are going for $299 with kit lens; used Panny 100-300, if I can find one, is in the $400 range. Any thoughts appreciated!
Thanks in advance.

Hi Ned!
Just noticed that you're in Edmonton, Canada. I have a relative who will be flying to Calgary next week. Just wondering if you know a store that sells micro four thirds stuffs e.g. lenses in the area? Thanks!
