Default Voigtlander 42.5mm f/0.95 for Micro Four-Thirds!

This looks to be pretty interesting!

Source: DC Watch via 43 Rumors

Amin adds: This is a manual focus lens and joins the 17mm f/0.95 and 25mm f/0.95 Voigtlander lenses currently in production. Also notable is the fact that Panasonic has a 42.5mm f/1.2 autofocus lens in development.

No matter what type of shooter you are, m4/3 has really got some serious momentum now. I wonder how this will compare to the coming 42.5/1.2 from Panasonic, whenever that shows up.

OH MAN... YEAH.

This year I was hoping for a 100-300 Panasonic, and a 42.5mm f1.2 Panasonic (whenever that materializes)... but now... I think I have to redo my lens plan. That 40-150 I have will have to remain my only telezoom for awhile... or uh, until I sell it

They also hit the sweet stops for classic focal lengths... that I want. Also- it looks like it's not the size of a monster. I love my Oly 17 f1.8, so I'll pass on the existing CV 17mm (and my bag size real estate is getting slim- always have 4 lenses + lens on camera + Body cap "lens"). The 25mm though- is my favorite lens I own. The build quality is fantastic, and it gives me a nice nostalgia for MF lenses of years past.

I'm sure when announced on DPR the comments of "will this come out for the NEX?" will pile up I KID I KID

Looks pretty sweet. M43 will have a total of 3 dedicated portrait lenses!

It will cost more and not have AF. I wish I could afford the Voigtlander lenses! Sadly they have to remain in my dreams.

now I really hope a form of focus peaking will come to the next Pany/Oly cameras... the dof of this lens will be razor thin at f/0.95

Now this one interests me more than the 17.5mm and even the 25mm of old! I always wanted them to go longer with these big apertures, rather than wider.
Thanked by WT21 and GRID.
