Grrrrrr, I wish this was just a week earlier! I can probably return mine but is it really worth the $44 that I'd be saving?

I highly doubt they will be releasing a GX2 this year. Nothing has indicated that they will be releasing anything other than a new GH3 and G5.

There is a like new GX1 on the local craigslist today for $325. Wow!

No kidding. I've been convincing myself all day that I don't need a second body!

It's hard to justify the same sized body as a second. I could see having an EPM-1 pr something smaller so I could have an actual pocket camera (with the 14/20).

Would still need to purchase EVF; that significantly narrows the gap with the G3.

The G3 is a better deal in terms of total capability for the money. It does everything a GX1 does plus adds the EVF and articulated LCD. Here are some reasons to consider the GX1:

1) Smaller (if not using with EVF)

2) Looks (subjective)

3) More "premium" build (people say)

4) A few more external controls (dedicated AF/AE lock button, separate Fn1 and DISP buttons, dedicated AF/MF button)

Here's why I'm replacing my GF3 (not G3) with the GX1:

1) Better sensor (than GF3)

2) Unlikely to see a GX2 with better sensor than GX1 any time soon given that all rumors point to an upcoming G5 that uses the same sensor as G3

3) Hot shoe lets me use my little Ricoh GV2 optical viewfinder, which will look right at home on the GX1 and would be a little less natural on a G3 due to the hump

4) I just have the feeling that the PL25/1.4 and GX1 are made for one another

Jpeg processing is improved on GX1. DPreview has a nice comparison in their review of GX1 of a dimly lit object where GX1 does a nicer job .
GX1 does look nicer, but I actually found G3 easier to grip simply because the front grip occupies more volume and fits my hand better. I do like the rubberized material used on the GX1 grip - that looks to be the migrating over to the GF5 and G5 as well.

These are much the reasons I was interested in a GX1 despite already owning the G3. A couple things I'm curious to see are if the LVF2 is comparable to the G3's viewfinder, and if the IQ is any different between the two. I've read that the GX1 is a G3 sensor with improved/updated processing so I'll be interested to see if there is any noticeable difference.

The external controls were certainly a draw (the more I shoot, the more I appreciate external controls - go figure). I was mainly interested in having a slightly smaller body I can pair with a small prime lens for a "pocket" camera when I'm not planning to take a full complement of gear. It's a plus that the GX1 can share batteries, and memory cards with the the G3 too.
