Default Olympus Special Edition Wooden Grip for E-P3 Pre-Orderers in Japan

Apparently those who pre-ordered the E-P3 from Olympus in Japan had the option to choose to receive a special wooden grip as a gift:

Ohhhh...Sweet, wonder how practical & safe it would be in terms of gripiness.

Unlike the wooden Pentax a while back, this is actually really nice looking.

That's sort of cool looking, but if I'd held onto my EP3, I'm pretty sure I'd have gotten the larger of the two grip options, rather than a fancier version (of which there appear to be a few) of the small one...

Wha-? You mean you had the choice to receive this as a free gift or not? Who would say no to that?

There was an atrocious Limited Edition Pentax 645 announced a few months ago too. Whoever comes up with these things has had their aesthetic sensibilities removed.
