Yep, the vast majority of people pay $599 for this lens and give it very high marks:

I wrote a review quite a long while ago comparing it to the Panasonic 14-140mm lens: Olympus M. Zuiko Digital 14-150mm f/4-5.6 Lens Review

damn - I just bought the 40-150 for $200. I think this would be worth the extra

I'm very curious to hear a comparison of the 14-150 and the 12-50. Neither seems to get much love, but I have been happy with the 12-50. At this price the 14-150 is tempting.

The 14-150 is a faster, more versatile lens in terms of focal length.

The 12-50 is a good versatile weather sealed lens that doubles as a macro. It's also my only 12mm lens so I use it for that too.

I travel a bit and when the weather is poor you gotta have that weather seal.
Thanked by demiro.

From 14-50 under normal conditions -- much different IQ?

I'd love to buy the 14-150 and ditch the 12-50, but for the reasons you point out the 12-50 is a keeper. I already have the 45-200, so the 14-150 would really just be a nice all-around lens for the E-M5. Not sure I really need that.

I would enjoy a weather sealed 14-150, actually. It wouldn't be a instant buy though. A port of the 12-60 with sealing would be an instant purchase for me.

If there is it'd be hard to tell unless you're pixel peeping the corners.

Typically a longer zoom range would give you softer corners.

I am not the type that shoots charts to see how soft corners are. Sorry won't be able to help you.

I started out with Panasonic bodies and owned the Pana 14-140 for quite a while. Eventually I realized I wasn't using it and sold. However, the Oly 14-150 is enough lighter than the Pana 14-140 to make a difference to me, and at this price it's a no brainer.

I'm a prime shooter at heart and typically head out with two bodies and two lenses in one of the following configurations:

OMD/PL25, GX1/P14
OMD/O45, GX1/P14
OMD/O45, GX1/P20

However, I think that I'll really enjoy OMD/O14-150 abd GX1/PL25 together.
Thanked by tolesy and twokatmew.
