I just read this news on 43 rumors and I am super excited! Great for m4/3 and even better for APS mirrorless(allows the lens to be almost the same AOV as FF!). I hope the Nikon adaptor will include electrical contacts to allow aperture control for G lenses and power for VR(IS).

White paper says it does allow aperture control for G lenses on Nikon mount. Nothing for VR or AF that I saw.

Actually it would be nice if they made a .50x adapter - it would not work on the NEX or other APC/APS cameras because of the image reduction but on m43 it could be sweet.
Just imagine taking an adapted 50/1.4 and making it a 25/0.7 :D. That would really drive down the cost of the Voightlander 25/0.95.

It might make the image circle too small to work on cameras like my GH2 that uses an oversized sensor and uses more pixels in the width in the wider aspect ratio modes.

There is a limit to the output f-number you can get (0.9 I read at Philip Bloom). Seems logical; creating lenses with these high speeds does not become magically easier because of this trick.
Nevertheless, might be interesting for some applications. Like with the 100/2.0. Creates a 70/1.4 at the same price for lens + adapter as the Oly 75/1.8. Perfect portrait lens. For the shallow-DOF aficionados, try it on a 85/1.2 (creates a 60/0.9). Or, more yummie but a bit expensive, take the 17mm tilt/shift. Now you get a 12/2.8 tilt/shift...

No, the GH2 has the same diagonal at all aspect ratios (except square).

135mm f2.5 would become a 96mm f1.8. So then on m4/3 you would then think of it as a 190mm f1.8 in FX terms. Not bad!

Phill Bloom said that the IS worked with the Canon adaptor he tried! So I would assume it work with Nikkors as well. I know there is limited AF ability with the Metabones Canon to NEX adaptor(center spot only and slow). I personally can live without the AF but the aperture control and VR would be more critical.

I can't imagine second-hand legacy glass dropping any more. It's already higher than it was in 2007-2008."
I know: I passed up a lot of lenses then and am kicking myself for it now.

The white paper has the info - direct copy from the PDF:
Objective lens mounts: Canon-EF, Nikon-F (Leica-R, Contax C/Y, Contarex and Alpa planned)
Capabilities, Canon-EF version: Electronic iris control, AF and VR
Capabilities, Nikon-F version: Manual iris control of G type lenses
Camera mounts: Sony NEX, Micro Four Thirds, (Fuifilm X planned)
Note that the Canon-EF adapter specifically lists AF & VR support while the Nikon F-mount adapter does not.
