I wish that Pana 14mm would be a tad wider, so rather pay some more for the Oly 12mm and get something really beautiful. But heard great things about that Pana, looks like a winner if you don't want to go wider.

Thanks for the info on this adaptor. Does this beauty take a hood? If so, do you know the front thread size? Looks like the answer for European architectural shots, but I'm concerned about flare when going that wide.

LOL, I just realised I have the solution already to test. I have an old Olympus IS1000 back home in New Zealand, it has a 49mm thread and came with a .79x adaptor. I already have a 46-49mm step-up ring, so will be able to try it out in a couple of weeks. The adaptor weighs about 3x as much as the 14mm pancake mind you!

Cheers, Tom

Thanks to you, Amin, I scored one of the last of the batch that had been split from the kit. It is everything you describe and a fun little lens to use.

My only regret is that there is not a similar deal with the 20mm lens.

Cheers

I bought one of these SH from Davvy on the member trade listings last week. It was a gift for my partner who uses an EP-1: of course, I had to try it out but with no thought of keeping it as I have the Olympus 12mm f2.
I have to say that I am really taken with this lens and it has made me realise that the Olympus 12mm f2 may be a fantastic lens but it is perhaps a little too wide for my tastes. I can certainly see me getting much more use out of this one.

This lens is so damn TINY. It'll be a good lens for when the 20 may be too slow to focus during nights out or quick paced activities.

Lovely little lens. Can't be beaten for the price. Bought it last month after Amin's post.

Here are three pics taken with the Pana 14 @f5,6 at the Vélodrôme de Roubaix in France (the very one of the Paris-Roubaix bicycle race).

Cheers.

For me it's enough to have the extra speed and tiny size, without giving up anything I can see in IQ. It's one-half of my two-lens kit. I actually bought it before this thread, at an incredible price.
