Ditto on the P14/EPM1 combo. My Oly kit lens has seen little use. The only downside to the Panny are the noises it's prone to make, particularly with video. Depending on your settings, you can get that woodpecker sound. But oh, it's a sharp little thing, and on the PM1, well, I actually had my old, beloved Fuji F31 out the other night, and while it's capable of some stunning colour, I put it back in the bag and went back to the Oly/Panny combo. It's really great and for the price of the two (got my Panny on ebay as well), I can live it and without the coveted X100 or XPro1.
Now, what is the equivalent zoom option in terms of quality and bang for the buck?

I just bookmarked your Amazon account to my bar! I always buy stuff from Amazon and I'd love to support this site. It's been very helpful for me, so now I'll be helpful for you! :)
Thanked by Armanius.

If the focal length suites your style then the 14/2.5 is a killer catch at these prices.

And the ebay deal mentioned is for the sweeeet all black version

Thanked by Armanius, eno789, sLorenzi and 2 others.

It's not a focal length I use very often -- 25mm to short telephoto is more of what I habitually shoot -- but given what it is selling for presently, I'll probably get it. After all, it isn't that I don't ever shoot that wide, and a fast, sharp prime when I do will be nice to have. The Olympus 12mm is just way out of my price range right now, especially since I'm not a wide angle shooter typically. But under $200 for a really nice prime is, as Amin says, a no brainer. At least for this brain.

I think it's a heck of a bargain. I happen to find it a very useful focal length. Couple that with that fact that it close focuses pretty well and it even focuses quickly on an E-P1 (something my O45 does not do particularly well) and I think it's a great lens. If I was restricted to only have a few lenses it would most definitely make the short list. Also the huge gap in price between the 12/2 and the 14/2.5 makes it even more obvious what a deal it is.

Cool, if you like it. For me, the 28mm-equivalent focal length is neither fish nor fowl. If I need to go wider than a 40mm equiv., then I want a 24 equiv.

the 14 is my go to lens for the ghost town shots and also car shows and regular car shots, I do find for lowlight night shots the 14mm is more noisy then the 20mm, but IMO, the 14mm is a must have lens at the price of $169, which is what I paid....

fantastic value.....
