I was afraid you would tell me that Steetshooter. I think I paid 700 for mine too and got the 45-200 with it so I know it was more than 900 total. I got too much in it to ever sell it I guess.

Got 1000 in the A33 so far and I really need that $1k Bigma lens to go with it.

I remember paying around 600 for my old Panasonic DMC-FZ50 too, but it was worth every penny.

When I started getting serious about purchasing a M43 camera earlier this year, I read everything I could on the G1, the G2 and the GF1.

I came to the conclusion that the "sweet spot", for me at present, was the G1. I NEVER want to rely on an LCD (hardly ever use it, actually), don't care about video, and the 14 -45mm lens seemed to have the edge (pun intended) over the 14 - 42 kit lens.

Also, in reading between the lines on the more technical reviews, I was starting to get the impression, however correct or incorrect, that Panasonic had gotten more aggressive with noise reduction in it's later gen cameras - I'll take accutance over strengthened noise reduction any day.

And it cost less. Bonus!

Wow. That is a steal. I remember looking at that camera in Wolf and it was 699.

The G1 still seems to be holding its price over here, only about £100 less than the G2, and the new G2 being around the same price as the G1 was a year ago.

G1 & 14-45 currently £299 at Currys. I have a feeling they are trying not to let it go under that mark ... but with all the new models how can they keep the price of old stock up?
G10, G2, GH2, GF2...

Dang I wish there were knock-down sets of e-pL1 & VF2 around ...

I couldn't resist the $299 body only deal. I have (and love) my GF1 that I carry every day with the 20/1.7. But the G1 will be perfect with my 14-140 for many other situations.

I will probably do the same, although my other lens (in addition to the 20mm) is the 45-200. Now, though, I'm torn between the new G1 at $299 and the almost new ones offered at $240 (also on the Amazon site). In addition I've ordered the Pinwide pinhole coming out next month.

Not that it's a bad deal, but I don't see much advantage to the $299 body over the $399 kit. That's a $300 lens; you'd still be giving it away if you sold it for $150.

Not only that, but you could handily get more than $100 for the lens, so might as well pop for the $399 even if you don't need the lens.
