excellent thread. it's been a nice read and interesting to see a lot of variations and preferences.
i'll chime in, based on my current kit >>
1 - 20mm 1.7
2 - 20mm 1.7 + 45mm 1.8
3 - 20mm 1.7 + 45mm 1.8 + 7-14mm 4
future kit...
4 - 20mm 1.7 + 45mm 1.8 + 7-14mm 4 + 75mm 1.8
and a PL 25 1.4 to mess things up!!

Spent a week and a half on a trip and forced myself to take only two native lenses for my E-P2. Based on that experience, my choices are:
1 Lens Kit: Panny 25mm 1.4
2 Lens Kit: Oly 14-150mm + Panny 25mm 1.4
3 Lens Kit: Panny 25, Oly 17 and Oly 45

Probably completely different from anyone else's choices, but I'm going for versatility, rather than (prime) quality. This would be my choices for a long trip, vacation.
1. P14-140
2. P7-14, P14-140
3. P20, P7-14, P14-140
4. P20, P7-14, P14-140, PL45
Now, for just a day of shooting downtown, that new P12-35 looks mighty interseting.

the 14-140 is a good choice, great versatility. now the 12-35 is something!

HuubL... I think the choices you made are excellent. Personally, I might substitute the 25/1.4 for the 20/1.7 simply for fast, silent focus, but other than that... awesome choices. And I agree, for a one-lens-general-solution, the 14-140 is a brilliant (though expensive) lens. Good stuff costs a bit more money. Your choices are exactly what I might pick on a given day... depending on whim.

watch out - cheating alert :
1): Panasonic 20mm
2): Panasonic 14mm, Voigtlander 25mm f0.95
3): as 2) plus Samyang 7.5mm OR Zeiss Planar 50mm f1.7 T* OR Jupiter 85mm f2
4): as 3) plus Minolta MD 50mm f3.5 macro OR 100mm f4 macro OR 135mm f3.5
I tend to cheat further by secreting a Holga 25mm f8 in some pocket or other...
Wish list: Olympus 75mm, Nikon 180mm f2.8 ED...
This is actually a really useful exercise, as it appears that I could sell one or two lenses that don't figure on any of the above lists!

1) 12-35mm: flexible range, relatively fast, somewhat weather resistant
2) Add 20mm:
3) Add 7-14
4) Add 75mm
This is my current setup, except I currently own the Oly 45 instead of the 75. Debating between the 75 and 35-100, but given the quality of the 75, I'll keep the speed and crop!

for my needs:
7-14, 12-35, 35-100, 100-300
I'd be happy with that.

I'll preface this with saying I currently own the 14-42, 45-200, and 14-150, and my 25 is en route. I've looked through image threads and read reviews for the other lenses, but take it with a grain of salt until I buy them.
1: 14-150, you just can't beat the flexibility
2: 14-150 and 25 - adds great low light and selective focus capability
3: 14-150, 25, 7-14 - adds wide capabilities for landscapes and such
4: 14-150, 25, 7-14, 45 - adds a great portrait lens
5: 14-150, 25, 7-14, 45, 100-300 - all the bases are covered
If/when oly brings the 12-60 2.8-4.0 to , that will replace the 14-150 in the 5 lens kit.
