A reminder re posting for the contest
Great entries!
Just a reminder from the first post where the rules are posted: 2000 Member Photo Contest: 'Aging'
Quote:
To enter the contest:
First, upload your photo to this gallery: Aging - Ends August 1, 2010 - Mu-43 Gallery. That gallery is where the voting will take place.
Make a post in this discussion thread and embed the photo which you uploaded to the gallery. The purpose of this second step is to bump this thread giving both the contest and your entry more exposure.
|
I just happened to notice some photos in the Aging contest gallery that haven't yet made it into this thread - so happy embedding!

Memories
It seems that she is looking at something, but her gaze is lost. Where will our old people go when they take refuge in themselves?

Gramps
My father in law is 89 years old now and often has this reflective look in his eyes. He says he is happy and content with his life but his eyes have begun to look lonely. Perhaps this is the way is goes as your friends and family die....

There are some very good "Aging" photographs in here. If I hadn't already entered one, and were not so vain, I could easily have entered a self portrait.
I'm bring this up in hopes that some of more folks will take this opportunity to add their photos to the contest. Be sure to read the first post for the details.

I wanted to stick to nature for this theme.
Had a shot with roses, just to find out in time that Weezyfeezy already posted one.
So here's one with leaves.

Margaret's Angel
Margaret died when she was just 20. I've always fancied that her angel's life-like appearance was based on Margaret herself. An attempt to defy the passage of time and immortalise the young girl as she once was within the stone. She has stood, weathered by the years for over 80 years now, but still remains beautiful in my eyes.

Thanks for looking.
