Default GF5 blowout!!! $400 at Frys.

Didn't the GF5 just come out? Fry's is blowing it for $400. Both black and white.

Coupled with GX1 body-only deals for $400 popping up here and there, it makes one wonder what Panasonic and their retailers are doing...

Doesn't make you want to buy another one if they dump them and devalue your camera.
Those of us without bottomless pockets rely on our equipment to be worth something if we want to move up.

It kind or works both ways for consumers. For the PENs, Gs and GFs it seems if you can wait six months or so to buy a new release you will be just fine. You have to display a bit of restraint if you don't want to lose that big drop from original sticker price.

For early adopters of Panasonic models, the penalty has become pretty harsh. The falloff in Oly prices seems much slower, but I haven't tried to analyze that...

In February I bought a new EPL-1 for$300 and now it's under $200 and you can get a demo body with full warranty for $120 That's P and S prices.
There was a guy on Craigslist trying to sell one for $150 and the ad stayed there for a awhile.
I was watching a Top Gear episode some years ago where they tested an Alfa Romero in England ,they said the depreciation was so bad dealers wouldn't even stock them
If M4/3 get a rep for being wort less in a short time it might hurt sales. I guess this is why people buy Leicas!

And here I always thought that people bought Leicas so that everyone around them can see how much disposable income they have.

I just got a GF-5 from Adorama for $499.00,and they threw in a 14-42mm kit lens just for fun. I am getting better auto-focus with it than My OD-em-5. What!. Yes.

That is insane-o pricing.

Too bad I already have a copy of the 14-42... if it were paired with the 14 they'd have hooked me(I really dig that Panny white/silver combo and must own one before I die ).
