I love that sepia/sunset shot

Great stuff everyone. Remember this is pretty casual. If you miss a day the Earth keeps spinning but come back when you can.

It's not so hard to take a picture every day. It's hard to take a good one every day. Here's the view from out back by my shed. That's the Merrimac River about 40 feet below.

Thanks I think it came out pretty great. I think I will probably crop it and I'm not sure if that's what you meant but it was not shot in sepia mode. A few others were actually pretty good too but this one was the best of those. A few had some horrible looking lens flare that basically ruined them.

That's the challenge. It would be easy for us to wind up with a thread populated with a lot of really boring images. That would be the first thing to keep me from even bothering to look at the thread again. I would prefer to not participate daily than to feel I needed to dump something in just for the sake of it.

Let's hope the participation pushes the boundary far beyond snapping something just to have snapped something.
Thanked by dixeyk, fin azvandi and jloden.

That's why I called it "a summer of pictures" and not "picture a day" or something like that. I just want folks to get out and shoot and share. I find that getting out every day helps me get into the spirit of things. I find that making images is the best cure for wondering if you you should upgrade to the latest and greatest.

Dixeyk.... Yes, getting out and shooting can definitely help stave off GAS attacks! Sitting inside reading threads about new gear all too easily leads to acquiring the latest and greatest... which typically does little to make one a better photographer. But it does make sitting on one's wallet much more comfortable!
Thanked by DeeJayK and twokatmew.
