I'll put my vote in for the first one (with the stamen cropped out). I actually like the OOF stamen on the second image, but I find the increased DOF behind the flower too be too great to the point of distraction. Both are very nice, however.

Jay, I prefer the first one. For me it it's a more dynamic composition and does a much better job of highlighting the key parts which are the droplets and the vibrant color of the petals.
Thanked by jloden.

It's a '67 DeVille. Front edge of hood is straight and headlights are stacked. The '68 hood front dipped down at the edges but still has the same headlight config.
Thanked by DeeJayK.

Actually, after some more Googling, I think it's more likely a '66 Coupe Deville. I'm basing this off of the dip in the center of the front bumper and the apparent lack of the rear fender flare that the '67 had. Thanks for putting me on the trail!

Taken just a little after noon today with a Minolta Macro 55mm lens. I've been watching and shooting these berries for several days. Today I remembered a tripod, but alas, the wind was blowing the plant. I wish I had taken the picture before I ate the center berry. The next time I go to that patch I think I'll take a bucket instead of a camera.

Maybe its not to summer-y but I got a few minutes of street shooting in today. There was a line of 6 people all on their phones waiting for the bus so I decided to scoop in on them, the result:

Traveled from Missoula to Seattle today. Stopped along the way to view the Columbia River just before I-90 crosses over it. Notice the smoke laying low across the river. Just as we crossed the bridge, the Washington Highway Patrol closed I-90 due to a wild fire. We had to take a 20-mile detour.
Thanked by twokatmew.
