Its hard to do not using a flash! I didn't like the look with my fl36 or on camera as it took away from the look I wanted. I found that I had alot of shots that were both under exposed and blown out due to the lighting.

Thanked by Livnius.

Not at all, your image tells many stories, one of the most obvious is nature vs. man. You have focused on a barrier man has created to divided the sides. Interestingly, nature has canopied over the barren artificial topping of man. Nature is growing and plastic, always changing, while man's creation is static and begins to deteriorate the very moment of its birth. The B&W conversion heightens the stark differences on either side of the barrier.

Remember that photographs are as much a communications tool as the written word. One way to gauge/rate your photos is to look beyond IQ and rate how well the image communicates your intentions/story as you see it. The more viewers who see the story similarly as you, the greater the success and the better the communicative properties of your image. If your image doesn't say anything ... then your image has failed.

Gary

PS- Just saying "Purdy" works well also.
