Talking First attempt at fireworks.

Decided to try and get a few photos of fireworks tonight. I had to kludge my setup together by mounting the OM-D on a flimsy camcorder tripod from work, while operating bulb mode without a remote. Due to traffic I had to view them from 3/4 mile away over the top of the downtown buildings so no wide angle views were to be had. I had a hell of a time trying to figure out infinity focus on the 12-50 kits lens, not sure that I ever got it right.

I'm surprised at the amount of wobble, even if it was mounted on a cheaper tripod. Did you turn off the IBIS? It should be turned off when mounted to a tripod. I had steadier luck handheld up to 1 second with the kit 12-50mm.

It was set at ISO 200 F11 and 50mm. From what I could tell shooting in bulb mode turned ibis off automatically. Lack of a remote has a lot to do with the wobble factor in would guess, since I was holding down the shutter button the whole time manually. It was just for kicks anyway, and I'm currently tripod shopping, just didn't have one yet.

If I had a guess, it could be the shutter causing the wobble. Still pretty neat, though.
