Wonderful Shot! My wife found one of these lenses for me in a second hand store in Hillsborough NC and I haven't even had a chance to mess with it..........I think I might need to step out back in a bit and introduce myself :)

I love mine but have only had it for about two weeks. These shots above are just phenomenal, especially the eye and the moth. Mine are more prosaic!

That last photograph of the catkin was taken with the 1:1 extension tube and hand-held.
When I got it, I was really disappointed by what I thought was the tendency to flare. Then I noticed the big greasy smear on the front element!
Thanked by eno789, Livnius, spatulaboy and 1 others.

Thanks man. There are a few members on here from the triangle. Maybe we should do a meetup?!

Thank you sir! I haven't used this lens much through the winter but now spring is here I will definitely be using it ALOT.
I noticed you have the PL45 macro in your signature... any significant differences? (besides the price )

Now that the weather is nice I've been using this lens much more often.

Spatulaboy,

How close to the subject are you getting in your pictures? I've never done macro shooting.

Most are 1:1 or close, which means I had to literally get the lens right up to them.

Default Apples on the Way (natural)

We've had several frosts, but the blossoms seem to be surviving. Looks like these will be open in a day or two. I used a Minolta Rokkor-X 50mm Macro lens that I've had since in the '70's. It's a great lens, but I don't use it very often. Camera was a Panasonic G2.
