Yep, given sufficient background separation, it can isolate subjects with good Bokeh.

That being said, I'll still be picking up a small manual-focus 35/1.4 (or 40/1.4) just for those times when subject isolation is needed. Cheers.

This quick snap of my son is a good example of why I sold my manual focus 50/1.5 and bought a fast focusing PL45. He was willing to look at the camera for just under a second .

Ah yes, kids are difficult to shoot. I often use pre-focus when shooting manually. The E-P2's EVF is very useful for MF, I find. When there's not enough background separation and I want a portrait, I know that I'll miss having a fast prime :)

Yes, I can relate to all of that. An autofocus, fast short telephoto cannot come along too quickly for me!

Great lens the PL 45 its the way it balances so well with the m43 bodies so light and compact and great build and adequately fast at f2.8

And recently on the E-P2 its great NO issues

A few images RAW using the G1/GF1

Sorry no portraits .. (no willing subjects)

Finally got my 45mm 2.8 today. This is the first shot that I took with it. So far, so good.
