This thing in picture mode is the fastest focusing lens I own.
Selling the 20mm too by the way.

The bokeh, spectral highlights and starbursts (!) on this lens are very, very nice. Thanks for sharing your pictures!

Have you tried shooting video? I'm curious if it can maintain focus when filming an interview subject..

I have a new favorite lens. I have always liked the ~50mm (full frame) field of view, and while the 20/1.7 is a very good lens, it never clicked enough with me to be a favorite. In just one day shooting with my new 25/1.4, I have that great feeling I had with my 1Ds II and Sigma 50/1.4, but in a MUCH smaller and lighter package. Oh, and it's sharper wide open. It is sharp right from wide open and has absolutely stunning bokeh. Completely creamy in almost all situations. Occasionally some longitudinal CA crops up at very wide apertures, but it's sharp, contrast, with great color, great bokeh, fast AF and well....what more could you ask for?
Some samples around town:

VERY nice shots Jman. There was never any doubt its a fantastic lens, what im most curious about though, is just how it performs in low light...early evenings on the street, indoors in bars/@home that sort of thing. Please be sure to post any of that kinda stuff if you get the chance some time.
Thanks for posting.
