Hi Diana,

I am glad I am not the only one having this issue with the lens but it is a purchase we have both made with good intent so must justify it if only to ourselves - you are right, spring will offer the chance to use it more and benefit from it's great resolving power and focal length.

Ian

Ian,

Wonderful image of the door. Did you purchase the EVF? I read in the other thread where you were considering it. If so, what is your verdict on the quality of the EVF? Thanks,

Steve

Thanks John, and welcome to the forum!

can you tell us a little about how you reverse your 45-200?

What do you use, and what do you get?

Cheers

Brian

Ah, there it is! One of the shots I found on your flickr stream. Very nice indeed!

Thanks for the welcome Brian.

I'm very much a novice at photography but very happy to share the little i know. To reverse the lens i use a reversing ring, one of these It fits the 14-45 and 45-200 lens's. To use the 20mm lens, a step up adapter, 46mm to 52mm is required. You can change aperture settings by..

1) Fit lens with reversing adapter, and turn power on.

2) In aperture mode select reqd. aperture

3) Press and hold shutter effect speed button

4) Remove Lens and fit in reverse

5)One final thing, you will need to set SHOOT W/O LENS to ON in the G1/GF1 Custom Menu, page 5.

Good luck, its a cheap way into macro.

Not the sharpest shot, but I'm quite pleased with the result anyway (this is at 100%). Love to see these cormorants fishing on the river in the city centre.
