Finally put my kit lens to work today and for my taste it is quite good.

I love pansies, or maybe they're violas? They are spring to me and bring with them many happy childhood memories. My favorites of your photos are the purple pansies/violas and that colorful bar scene! Good stuff chefkenny!

Thanks BBW, those were my first time with my kit lens. I had some with adapted lens on other threads.

Almost all of my EP-1 shots have been taken with the kit lens so far, though I do also use an adapted Canon 50 f1.8 FD and 135 f3.5 FD as well and have the Panasonic 20mm f1.7 and (if it gets good reviews when it comes out!) the forthcoming Olympus micro-4/3 wideangle zoom on the shopping list! I really like it, especially as a walkaraound / travel lens, and its ability to do "semi-macro" closeups is far better than I had expected from a kit lens. Only downside is it's not particularly fast to focus, but I guess that's only to be expected of a kit lens too.

Most of these are with my favourite Grainy Black and White filter , and the last one with the pinhole filter.

Edited to add: this is what the guy in the last photo was making - yes that is a loose ring around the amulet and yes he did do it all with his hands and feet! Astonishing skill.....

Really beautiful, Vidar and I love just the hints of color. Superb clouds...going off into the distance, too.
