I've been disappointed in the results from scanning 35mm transparencies, so I'm pretty much done with film at this point, I think. Probably the only reason I'd consider shooting film again would be large format work with a view camera (there's just so much you can do with tilts and shifts, and no, a T&S lens on a small camera just isn't the same).

But given the cost, weight and complexity of dealing with large format film, I doubt I'll ever actually get back to it.

I appreciate ur hard work and patience but honestly nothing is inspiring me to think that these shot are competing with FF . They are not even closer to a simple P&S leave aside DLSR , MFT or high end P&S. Is there something wrong in scanning pics?
Cheers

35mm film is the film standard for which full frame digital sensors are measured with.
What are you looking for in our shots

Hmmm...let's see....
No in-camera sharpening or post-process sharpening (though you can stack negatives to increase sharpness) so depending on your focus technique, film will really let you know just how good/bad your lens is....

Different films have different levels of color saturation

I use a Konica Hexar RF, 15mm f/4.5 (V), 24mm f/2.8 (L), 35mm f/1.4 (L), 40mm f/2 (L), 50mm f/2.8 (L), 50mm f/1.4 (C), 65mm f/3.5 macro (L), 90mm f/2.8 (L). V = Voigtlander, L = Leica and C = Canon.

The films I use are Kodak BW400CN for its speed and convenience and Adox CMS 20 for its incredibly fine grain. More than 90% of my film photography is in black and white, probably 95%, but I keep a small stock of Fujichrome Provia and Velvia slide film and Fujicolor Pro 160S and 400H in the freezer for colour.

I also have a Leica M9P body to use with these lenses.
