I hear ya... I swore I wasn't going to get an RX1 due to the 35mm fixed lens, high price, and my dislike for Sony business practices. There is a 50mm crop function on the RX1, but I don't see much point in paying through the nose for a full frame sensor then cropping away pixels

Despite a few misgivings, I got suckered in by the promise of FF sensor compact barely bigger than the GX1 with 20mm, so I'm going to give the RX1 a try anyway. It's a big expense, and I'll have to sell off a chunk of my lesser-used m4/3 gear as well as some other toys to afford it, but I'm excited to try a full frame system without giving up portability. For me m4/3 will remain my primary system when flexibility is needed, and the RX1 will hopefully be a go-anywhere FF camera I can carry right alongside it. I was also strongly considering a D600 or D800, but factoring in cost of at least one quality lens, I figured the price was close enough to warrant giving the RX1 a shot first.

And hey, if they do come out with a 50mm RX series camera down the road, I suppose I can always trade up
