Kevin, I like the 2nd one most of all (but then I'm a war history fan). Very pleased with the output of the 85/1.8, though I'm just getting used to the AOV now.

Good stuff, all! When I was shooting 35mm format, I mostly used 50mm lenses and usually had them stopped down to f/2.8 and beyond, so although I occasionally think about getting one again (my dad offers me his 5D II now and again), I'm not sure it would be any different than the PL25 and OMD now.

Here's one of the rare times that I used the 50/1.4 wide open on a 5D and felt like the shallow DOF worked to make the image better by putting the net a bit out of focus:

That was my neighbor's daughter many years ago. She looks crazy in that picture but as I recall was a very nice kid .

Nice thread, looking forward to seeing more images.
Of course in the strict sense of the word m4/3rds and 4/3rds are full frame systems
Thanked by Amin Sabet and goldenlight.

Nice shot Amin...I'm sure she has grown to be a lovely girl despite the photographic evidence suggesting otherwise :)

Some of the images in this thread really do highlight just how nice a really shallow DOF can be when applied well. Certainly wouldn't shoot everything super shallow but it sure is nice to have that option....some our native m43 lenses do well in this regard I think...the PL25, O45 and even more so the O75 being the most noteworthy. Can't wait to see how the P42.5/f1.2 goes (due next ?).

Shallow DOF isn't the only reason to consider/be interested in a FF camera of course...been checkin out some of the dynamic range DxO numbers of the D600, first time I've ever bothered to look at such lab numbers, and man....that thing would be a landscape monster.

Shot with a cheap 50/1.8 (at 2.0).

Thanked by eno789 and KVG.
