Default Aperture 3 and iPhoto 9 RAW Compatibility 3.3 update!

Just received this email notification:

Apple has released Digital Camera Raw Compatibility Update 3.3, which “extends raw image format compatibility to Aperture 3 and iPhoto ‘09.”


Newly supported cameras are

Canon PowerShot SX1 IS
Olympus E-PL1
Panasonic Lumix DMC-G2
Panasonic Lumix DMC-G10
Samsung NX10
Sony Alpha DSLR-A390
Sony Alpha NEX-3
Sony Alpha NEX-5
The update is available via Software Update and also directly from Apple here.
So for all who are interested check out your new software update and celebrate!

Great news! It's been a long time coming! I even got proficient enough with LR3 to be dangerous. I'm curious to see what results I can get out of both of these applications.

Inquiring minds want to know, eh? I'm definitely going to be taking some RAW + JPEG photos and see what's what, that's for sure. Let's all report back!

After the update, I did a quick test with Aperture 3 and didn't encounter anything out of the ordinary. I also think the output is pretty good.
