Hi all

Total newbie to Micro 4-3rds, in fact last new camera other than an Ixus point and shoot was a Nikon F501 about a million years ago. Been dithering for a long time on which way to go DSLR - Micro 4-3rd, Olympus - Panasonic... but finally plumped for an EPL-1. Currently it's winging it's way to me with 14-42 kit lens and the Pana 20mm.

Looing forward to getting to grips with all this as we move in to Autumn and those lovely misty mornings.

Cheers to all

Simon

Congrats for making an excellent decision. You've chosen a beautiful camera with amazing photo quality, but one with an extremely challenging menu system.

I strongly urge you to get a copy of this book:
Amazon.com: Olympus PEN E-PL1 For Dummies? eBook: Julie Adair King: Kindle Store
I've been using digital cameras for about 13 years and have never encountered one with a more confusing interface.

I bought the Kindle (for PC) edition so I could search for quick answers. It's been a tremendous help.

Thanks for this space! I am new and I just bought a EPL-1. I can't wait to receive it. Hopefully I can learn a lot here.

Glad to have you here, Starbuck and please make yourself at home.

I see that some other new members slipped in here without my notice , and I'd like to extend a big mu-43 welcome to kawagia, 2wheel_simon and lizardstone, as well!

Hi Amin,
Thanks for the welcome. I am an art Consultant in South Africa, and do as much photographic work as possible, mainly as a hobby. I have been waiting for my E-PL1 camera that a friend has acquired for me in the US in April, but has not been able to deliver to me yet. The waiting is driivng me nuts, I cant wait to try it out as well as try using my old Zuiko lenses from my OM10 o fthe 80's

Warren, thanks for taking the time to stop in here and introduce yourself - and welcome to mu-43! I think you'll find yourself among many other Olympus OM owners who decided to go similar routes for the same reasons. Please keep us posted on your E-PL1's arrival!
