Default Mu-43 Donation System

We use advertising and affiliate sales to pay for server costs and various site improvements. At the same time, we are careful to avoid annoying popup ads and to avoid or minimize distracting advertisements on the discussion thread pages.

Some members have made direct donations to Mu-43, and these donations have been very helpful in meeting our operational costs.

To donate now, follow this link:

Members receive the following perks for a minimum of one year following a donation:
  • 5x greater storage space* in our photo gallery
  • 5x greater attachment space*
  • 10x larger private message inbox*
  • Ability to access our chat area (in development)
  • User title of "Donor"
  • Removal of left column banner ads**
  • Removal of ads from our mobile app for iOS and Android.
It may take up to a day for these changes to occur since everything is done manually.

Thanks again to everyone who has donated or plans to donate to the site. Donating will never be mandatory, and we appreciate all of our members' diverse contributions to the site!

--
*Relative to registered members who have not donated. Absolute storage space is subject to change. See this post for details.

**Donors do not get an "ad-free" site. Affiliate links are a necessary part of site fund raising, and donors will still see these and certain other forms of advertising. However, donors see fewer ads, eg removal of left column banner ads on the site main page.

Thought I'd give this a BUMP after having hit my 750th post and donated as a reflection of the amount of time I'm obviously spending reading all the mu-43 goodness thats available on-tap and for free.

A great forum, great members and excellent tips/advice.

Thanks Amin, for all the awesome work :-)
Thanked by Amin Sabet.

Default Newbie -- Just donated, too

Hi all.

Just thought I'd let everyone know that I just donated $20 to this site, since it has been very helpful and informative to me.

My long story short:
I got into DSLRs when the Canon Rebel came out (7 years or so?)
I upgraded to a few different Rebels over the years, a light, a lens or two...

It took great pictures, but I never could get comfortable getting in to the manual modes. Also, it seemed that no one else wanted to use my camera, since it was a bit heavy, large and intimidating.

I heard of the OMD through Leo LaPorte, of all people.
I checked it out, sold all my Canon gear and picked up the OMD.

On day one, I was easily using the manual modes, screwing around with settings, taking pics of all sorts of stuff. I'm nowhere near a pro, nor plan to be, but I can easily take my camera with me now, and snap away.
It's been a real sort of freedom or something.

Anyway, this site has given me tons of research, pics to view, thoughts to ponder, and a few chuckles, too.

There's no need to donate as the site owner states, but if you dig this site, you may want to consider a donation to help keep it going.

By the way, donating via my PayPal account could not have been easier.

Thanks to everyone on this site for sharing all your experience and thoughts.

Johnny.
Thanked by Amin Sabet and kponds.

Sold some items on here recently so thought I should donate to the site out of the receipts.
Thanked by Amin Sabet.
