Default Whoops .... Found Another One

For you sling strap folks:

Carry Speed Store | Welcome

Prolly already brought up but I missed it and just stumbled across it over on the kiddie's forum. Looks pretty good.

I splashed out on a new strap for my G3 recently. I got this one (new) from eBay for 30cents (19pence) delivered from China. Did I pay too much?

Don't think I'd want to pay more than $0.28 for that thing. ;)

I use the old (very old) .38" wide leather/vinyl Olympus straps with the sliding rubber pad. Nikon made similar straps as well.
They don't slip, easy on/off, they're tough, and surprisingly comfortable. PLUS you can find them at yard sales and camera store discount bins.
Like this, but this auction shows both the nylon and leather(?) version. The nylon frays too easily.

Just got my Gordy's strap in the other day, love it so far. No more worrying about dropping my camera, especially with big adapted glass on it. I may still get a sling strap at some point though for longer days.

I just made my own strap. It's 47 inches long and it's made out of 55 feet of black paracord. Pretty surprised how comfortable and flexible it is. I also wear it across the chest so the camera rests on my hip.

I use the OpTech Utility Sling (not too lightweight, not too beefy - lighter weight than their heavier Pro Sling) link below, with the quick detach Uni loop sling connectors. When traveling, I will often use two bodies, each with one of these straps. The connection to the cameras is beefy enough to give good confidence with the heaviest of m4/3 body/lens combos. Often I will carry cameras this way, but use the quick detach while I'm actually shooting with it. Keeps the camera handy for walk around when I don't want to be burdened with a camera bag.

I like their cam strap QD with very small cameras like the LX5

...but with the heavier m4/3 gear, much prefer a sling so I don't have to carry the camera(s) in my hand(s).

I don't like straps much. I have one of the Optech Pro Loop straps and although it is OK for something really heavy like a pro FF DSLR with grip, the neck pad is too stiff for something as light as the GX1 I have now. I also have an OpTech hand strap that is the best hand strap I have used, but really, sometimes I don't want the camera in my hands.

Right now I am using one of the free straps SmugMug gives to its users just for asking, and it is working out pretty well. It has a soft, wide, grippy neck pad and is long enough that I can adjust it to a comfortable length for me.

SmugMug rocks, BTW.

This looks nice. Maybe you should start making them for sale like this guy.
