Default Flowers in B&W

Lately I've been experimenting with flowers in B&W. A subject that usually calls for color can be a challenge to transform to B&W and retain the interest. Here are 2 to start us off. Let's see your flowers in monochrome!

Tiger Lily II
Tiger Lily, GX-1, 45-200

Thanked by Christilou, crsnydertx and Livnius.

Billgreen, really nice! Are you taking them in a monochrome mode or using post-processing for the conversion?

I shoot raw and process a color image first. Once I get the color image looking like I want I convert to B&W and tweak as needed. I find this process to work much better than shooting in B&W.
Thanked by crsnydertx.

I've wondered about trying this but I wasn't sure how flowers would look in B&W, color is so much a part of what makes flowers unique. I was glad to see you post, it shows that it is possible to convey the beauty. The second photo is really well done - I love it!

Almost an infrared feel to this one.
