It was like stepping back in time . I had not seen a Christmas parade like this in years.

Caimi
Great street shot. Could you give us background about the parade and where it took place?

Sure. It took place in the town of Killarney, Ireland on the evening of November 30, 2012. We had checked in to the Killarney Park Hotel that afternoon and the concierge reco mended we check out the "Christmas street lighting" if we didn't have any other plans that evening. We drove out to Killarney National Park and returned to the city about 7.00pm and noticed some streets had been closed to traffic and a crowd was beginning to form. We overheard children talking about Santa's arrival. So we waited in the cold as the crowd got bigger and bigger and the mood became more and more festive. The parade began about 8.00 pm and it was wonderful. All of the local schoolchildren performed music and jumped on pogos and sang carols and, as I said, it was like a trip back in time. This scene caught a group of bagpipers drummers and one of the parade groups of school children. What luck to happen to be in Killarney on the evening of the Christmas Parade (with a great travel camera)!

You're really enjoying your visit to Ireland aren't you?

And doing a great job chronicling it with your E-PL5

The combo with the 20mm is a killer, yes?

The EPL5 proved to be the travel camera I've been looking for . Compact size combined with fantastic IQ. And the 20mm lens works right along with those two objectives. And Ireland is a photographer's dreamland.
