Thanks -but it's all changed since I was there back in the 1980s. Actually although I lived close to Clayton, I usually tooki the train from the station one stop closer to Melb. It was a lot cheaper as I remember, being a poor graduate student

Yes Steve it has changed a lot and its expensive now . Train ticket > 2 hrs costs u around AUD12 .
