Default Smokey Cape Lighthouse, Australia

This great spot is on the northern coast of New South Wales. Nearby is Trial Bay Goal, another great tourist destination. When we were at Smokey Cape there were pods of whales going past on their annual migration. They were a little too far out to take photographs, but were visible to the eye. The buildings on the left are former keepers homes, now used as tourist accomadation.
Cheers
DUD

Default Inside the bodie Lighthouse (N.C.)

Inside the Bodie lighthouse. You can’t go up these stairs, but you can shoot up them. Strong graphic design always makes for a good b&w shot. One similar to this in color was used by Our State magazine (N.C.).

Sometimes they move a lighthouse to save it. I used to spend hours working to get this kind of a shot done correctly in the wet darkroom. Today you can do it in the computer. I always shoot raw, so I have my work in color and then convert to b&w. One thing about shooting raw is that you can always resort back to the original file. So if you get better at doing P.P. you can go back and start over. You can’t do that with a jpeg.

The bottom photo is a pretty little lighthouse, Chuck. Do you have any info on it?

The Fort Niagara Lighthouse on Lake Ontario, built in 1871. Not the most attractive view of it, but they built the parking lot almost up to the front door. The best time to photograph it is in the winter, when the parking lot is hidden under snow.

Boca Grande Range Light: EPL2 w/panny 20mm

The Range Light was built in 1881 and used in Lewes, Delaware, and was decommisioned in 1918.

The lightweight structure was moved by rail to Miami and finally to Boca Grande and reassembled in 1927.

The light was relit in 1932 and continues to remain in service guiding vessels into Charlotte Harbor via the Boca Grande Channel.
