Sure, this can help a bit. But unless you watch raw file on pc, can't really tell. Especially since i like to increase contrast and pull shadows, sometimes small bump in saturation. Well, with some practice i might be able to imagine end result with cpl before editing :)

I can only see the difference when I use it to look into the water. It's very obvious - at first you can't see what's on the bottom, then you turn the filter a little, and suddenly you can see inside. Very cool. But when I just use it on a scene, I can't really tell a difference on LCD. I can see the camera is re-calculating exposure by going up and down on the shutter speed and I turn it, but the actual image on the LCD doesn't seem to change much. I suspect that maybe the camera is compensating so that you can see things clearly on LCD and that's why it's like that. Not as dramatic as I was hoping, but maybe I just havent used it in a right situation.

Here are two photos I took a couple of weeks ago. The first one has the polarizer on, the second doesn't. Apart from using the polarizer I did not do any photo-editing.

I think the differences are quite visible.

So, if we have AE lock, should we be able to see the difference on the LCD screen then?
