Nice shot. I believe the correct term for a visible moon during daylight is a SUNDOG.

The two shots look like a sequence where somebody threw the Moon over the palm tree and it's coming right for us! (-:

Grinch, a sundog is something else entirely - an atmospheric solar effect.

hey never heard of a sundog. Something to look up when i have a bit of free time at work :).

Forgot to say the camera as a e-pl1 with the olympus 40-150 lens.

Came out pretty good i think.

Yeah, it's not the moon. Being a Minnesotan, we see sundogs pretty frequently, it's a reflection of sun off ice crystals making a halo effect or light spots.

The pictures above are clearly not Sun Dogs. Depending on the phase, the moon is visible during some portion of the day quite frequently.
