Default At the Zoo

I bought a new E-PL1 + Helios 44M 58mm. This is my first m43 camera and have never shot anything with manual lenses. I thought some of them turned out great and some not so much.

Nice work! I've always thought it must be hard to photograph animals with a manual lens (having tried it unsuccessfully with my cat recently). The flamingoes are stunning! And that eagle (?) is gorgeous :)

The penguin is nice. I like the flamingo image as well, but I would boost the color a bit on that one. Looks like you did a very good job nailing focus. Are you using an EVF or the LCD zoom method?

I just got my hands on a Helios 44 after seeing some very nice looking results and reading raves from others in this forum. Still awaiting delivery of the M42 adapter so I can see what I can get from it.

You've inspired me to load up the kids and head over to Woodland Park soon. It's been a while since I've been there. Seems like a good place to try out some of the longer lenses I've picked up recently.

Thanks. I did boost the colors a bit on the flamingos. Will try boosting it further tonight on LR4. I guess I was being conservative when it comes to post processing. Fairly new to LR4 as well.

And I've used the LCD zoom method. I don't have the EVF yet.
