Alan, I believe the reddish bird is a House Finch.
Thanked by BBW and ricseet.

Default For Focus Only. No Window Glass.. relief

Not a wonderful shot. but I was determined to try at least once sans the window glass. For focus.

it makes a considerable difference...

G1 45-200 / full 200. ISO 400. No Window Glass

Thanked by BBW, ricseet, Timm and 1 others.

I don't know if you are referring to my photos but they WERE taken from behind glass!
Thanked by BBW and ricseet.

Hello Glenn,

Yes, I was referring to your photos, they're awesome!

Those photos were taken through glass? Unbelievable, unless the glass was made by Leica, or Nikon...
Thanked by BBW and ricseet.

Well shucks Alan, glad you like them, if you zoom in on the birds eye you can actually see the patio doors I took them through. It was in a hotel restaurant and the feeder was outside.
Thanked by ricseet.

The birds in post #349 are Blue Jays; the bird with his back to you in #350 and 355 is a Black-capped Chickadee. I thought you had posted some pix of Tufted Titmice earlier, but I couldn't find it...
Thanked by ricseet and Alanroseman.

Well, as stated. I've never attempted any bird photos, just wanted to give the 45-200 some kind of a test...

I thought, "this will be pretty easy". But, like most things photographic, folks that do it all the time just make it look easy.

They are not the most willing subjects, you're out at a long focal length, DOF isn't great etc. etc.

It's been fun, I'm waiting for Isabel to tell me if I've improved my "color correction" for the birdies..
Thanked by ricseet.
