I was reminded by a comment in a blog I was reading this morning that birds are relatives of the dinosaurs and I came across this shot of mine showing a modern dinosaur making his way along a footpath at our local gallery/museum complex:

The posture reminds me of a lot of fake dinosaur scenes from too many movies and TV shows,

E-M5 with Olympus 12-50 at 50 mm.

OK this picture isn't that great, it's a heavy crop to boot. But the story makes it! We trap chipmunks in have-a-heart traps since they keep getting into the house. We came home from work last night and saw something by the trap. This young guy was really trying to figure out how to get the chipmunk out of the trap. Poor little thing was probably scared to death! We scared him off and took the chipmunk away. (I brought the camera with me because last drop off we saw a huge great horned owl in the road and if he was around I wanted to get a picture!) Well no owl, but when we pulled into the driveway I yelled at my husband to stop so I could shoot from the blind of the car and was able to snap a few photos before he flew off again. This table will barely hold a glass of iced tea without wobbling all over, so I have no clue how he stayed on there without almost falling off! But it was a great moment of laughing at him for still looking for his dinner in the trap.

For you birders is this a coopers hawk or a red tail? With the juvies I just can't tell?!

Not a red tail, they have a belly-band.
