Baby Osprey? They were bit far away...this was as close as I could get with my Pan 45-200mm, with a small crop

Adult in the middle, juv's on both sides. Really young ospreys have no head feathers and look like little dinosaurs. Nice capture.

So, we usually shoot with long lenses. Today I got to shoot with the PL 25mm as I was being mobbed by birds. I was sitting out on a deck of a restaurant on Tamborine Mountain and when the waitress bought me my coffee and cake, the lorikeets attacked. That probably is not too harsh a word. I was trying to fend them off as they tried to get at both my coffee and my cake. They stole the sugar sachets I didn't use, they perched on my shoulders, they perched on the arm I tried to fend them away with. If it hadn't been for the lens hood on the 25mm I would have been worried about the safety of the front element—I've finally found a protective use for a UV filter except I didn't have one. I even discarded shots taken with the 25mm because the birds were closer than the minimum focussing distance.

Somehow I did manage to finish the cake and coffee and then I surveyed the aftermath:

Both with the E-M5 and PL 25mm

Great shots and story. Did you try putting your camera in video mode and just leave it on the table?

That last one is one of my best I've seen on this forum.

When I want to Paris the birds outside the Louvre literally queued up and politely waited for me to finish eating.
Outside of Tate Modern in London I was mugged by a large gang of pigeons.

I would say the Tamborine Mountain restaurant needs a cat.
