He is a Scottish Deerhound. Very gentle and affectionate breed

But seriously, amazing dog. There must be some connection to the Irish wolfhound, it seems very similar.

They haven't hunted deer for many years! Some say that Deerhounds were used to help revive the once almost extinct Irish Wolfhound breed. Wolfhounds are also very sweet tempered, but tend to have shorter lives, due in part to their much greater size.

That unfortunately was true in Capone's case, who, in his early life, was subjected to some of the most horrific (and totally undeserved) treatment you could possibly imagine. Despite that, he remains one of the gentlest, most loving and affectionate creatures I've ever had the pleasure of knowing.
