I'm guilty as well, as I almost traded my ep-3 in today towards an em-5, but the thing locked up with a 20 in the shop and I took it as a sign. I was intrigued by its difference in form, all the other advancements are nothing that's going to affect my needs or product.

It's interesting but I am not all that wild about the OMD. I think it's a cool camera but I don't find myself all that eager to buy one. I'm not exactly sure why either. I usually prefer that mini-DSLR style.

Instead of the X10, why not keep your m4/3 and get the Panasonic 25mm 1.4 for low light (or the Voigtlander 25mm 0.95 if you're really feeling flush)?

The X10 seems like a decent bit of gear. I could see it being useful as an 'always in the car glovebox' type camera.....compact, bright zoom with fair range and decent high iso/low light ...and to top it off, nice Fuji jpegs. To me it sounds like the perfect second camera. I'm considering one and weighing it up against the Canon G1X to take fishing, hiking, to work and general light travel.
As an idea I think it's a great one, but I do think you may be able to perhaps get better value for your trade.

I think there is misperception on this thread that I am planning to get rid of my m43 gear. I have an E-P1, E-P3 and G2 as well as P14, P20 and O45 native lenses. I like my m43 gear. The issue is that I am not all that impressed with the E-P3 and since I have two other bodies it seems natural to move it (although I coud sell it as well).

Loved the X10, but I only really need one camera. And the primes tipped the scale for me.
Again, the X10 is very good, but I don't think it's anywhere near the value of the E-P3. Just my opinion of course. If you're willing to go for a trade anyway, there's a lot of refurbished X10s on the Amazon Marketplace. If your EP3 sells, check it out, they're fairly discounted.
Edit: I meant Amazon Warehouse deals. Although there's also a lot of items sold in the Amazon marketplaces, still covered by Amazon guarantee.

Hi Kevin
I think u haven't specified if its X10 or X100, if u r unhappy with EP3 then X100 will still make sense but I don't think X10 will outshine EP3 by any standard. Another option would b to get Panny GX1 with Panny 25 mm 1.4
One more suggestion .. Please have a look at Canon G1X as well . It will b better than X10.
Cheers

You know I had thought of the X100 but I am pretty sure the slow AF would drive me nuts. I have a few friends with them and it is a source of constant irritation with them. Also, I do find that the one thing I like about the E-P3 is the speed. Also, it's not that I'm unhappy with the E-P3 it's that I have 2 other m43 bodies and am not finding the E-P3 to be that much better.

I would avoid the refurbished fuji X10s, they still
haven't figure out the blob problem yet and you only get a limited warranty on them.

How about trading the X10 for the E-P3 body only, then selling the VF-2 separately as pocket change or trading it for something else? I can understand your reasoning now for choosing the E-P3 and also for not choosing the X-100 in return... however, the trade just sounds too unbalanced to me, lol. The VF-2 is a long-term investment item, even if you personally no longer have a body to use it with. I don't think it should be given away as a freebie. It'll make somebody very happy, and they'll be willing to pay the expense for it. I wouldn't mind picking up a second one myself (right now, I have to swap mine between my two Mini kits depending on which bag I pull out with me).
