One more comment on the size of the 25mm f/1.4 question:
The 25mm is still shorter than any Canon 50mm currently in production. The reason it tends to look so big is that the bodies it goes on as so very miniscule.
One the 20 vs. 25 debate:
I'm a huge advocate of having both. I've never really understood why people debate between the 20 and the 25. It's always seemed to me that the 20mm was a more logical competitor with the Olympus 17mm f/2.8. Those two are much closer in terms of FOV. Having both means you have a nice slightly wide angle and a nice normal lens, both with relatively fast apertures.
The question of waiting for a possible Olympus 25mm f/1.8 is also complicated by the fact that there's a possibility Panasonic will be releasing a new 17mm f/1.4, too. At least...that's the rumor...
I wish I could say something about telephotos...There's not much in terms of high grade quality just yet. The best you can do is just wait for the 35-100mm. As for myself, I'm currently debating between that lens and the Olympus 75mm. The flexibility of the zoom is attractive, but the jury is still out.

Ok guys, today i finally sold my 5dmkii (as you can see, doesnt show up in my signature anymore) honestly was quite big...in fact i was really doubting to sell it while waiting for the girl that bought it from me. but anyway...thats it , its gone. im relying only on my OMD for now, so lets do this. I know theres a lot coming in the next couple of month, so i want to invest my money as clever as possible into new glass, maybe a better monitor for my computer as well.
At the moment of writing this, i got the P14 on its way since re bought it a couple days ago, plus the P20 which i love by the exception of the AF speed and the O45 which there not much to say that is a marvelous lens.
Im still seriously on the fence in between the O9-18 and P7-14 which is heavily leaning to the P7-14 though the filter thread thing still bugs me...a lot actually.
I also read about the 12-35 which looks like a really awesome lens, but that overlaps absolutely my three primes and the only advantage that i see is the "changing lens on the field" that i save from doing and maybe thats not worth a few hundreds on top of my primes.
maybe just wait for photokina, not just for the announcements also maybe to see the price drop on various lenses. right?.
The only thing i know is that by now i only need an UWA and a tele for some birding. but ill wait for the 35-100 for that i guess.

I agree with everyone's comments about the PL25. Never owned the P20 but I like the PL25 rendering even better than the 45mm. There's certainly that Leica like feel to the images you get from this glass.
If you have the E-M5, I strongly urge you to get the 75-300mm Oly lens. Yes, it's slow and when coupled with anything but the E-M5, it's IQ is only above average. Coupling it to the E-M5, elevates its IQ to very good to excellent. It's smaller than the Panny 100-300mm and you also don't need the IBIS on that. I bought my copy 2nd hand (like new) on ebay for 525usd. If I didn't come across one at that price, I may not have ever considered it but I've been happy with results from my E-PL3 which I sold, and giddy with joy from results on my OM-D.
Here are a few samples. All taken at the local zoo. The first is at around 150mm, the second at around 280, and the peacock shot at 300mm. Shot in RAW and sharpening-wise, only standard sharpening was applied in LR4.

Hey man thanks for your comments im really looking about the o75-300 vs the p100-300 yes ive seen quite impressive images coming from the oly specially on K Wongs website, but damm they are expensive! Lets see if i can get a hold on the oly cheaper. And yes im getting quite tempted at the PL25 but i want to wait to the oly version of the 25 since theyve put stunning lenses this year so far (12,45,75) if they do it right i might jump on that one.also there was no images attached to your post

So you put the lens on another camera and suddenly the lens is better?
I know that the fit of a lens to a body can make a (slight) difference in focus blur, but that has little to do with the model of the camera and can also occur changing lenses (different samples of the same lens) on the same body. Maybe the EM5 has a tighter/better fit for the heavier lens?
Really nice pictures by the way.

I think it has a bit to do with the bigger EM-5 body stabilizing the lens better and a heckuva lot to do with the upgrade from 2-axis to 5-axis IBIS, which would provide for more crisp images especially at the longer focal length. Now, if you use a tripod, this is likely a moot point but the whole point of the m43 system is portability.
Oh, and thanks for the compliment. :)

Sorry about the images if they didn't show up for you. Here is the url for my small gallery thus far (I used to shoot jpeg and only recently upped the ante by shooting in raw)... - Mu-43 Gallery
I just verified the focal lengths for my images and may have given you the wrong info. So the possum was at 187mm, the kid on the ride was at 85mm, the red panda was at 124mm, the king vulture was at 156mm, the blue macaw and the peacock are at 300mm, the monkeys are at 270mm. I have a few more that I haven't uploaded yet all from the same lens.

Thanks! A couple of last things I forgot to mention. With the OM-D, on top of the 5-axis IBIS, you can also easily increase your ISO to 1600 without significant noise (3200 still usable but I dare not venture that high) which would allow you to stop down on your shutter speed even further to produce tack sharp images. There is a caveat that I've noticed with the 75-300mm at past 250mm, contrast and colors start to become muddied but if you shoot RAW, this is easily recovered by upping saturation and contrast in post.
Visited your site. Great shots. I especially like the environmental portrait with all the tires. Kudos!

I don't understand what you mean that the 75-300 isn't quite welcomed around here. I've just not heard much about it, but if it's the highest quality lens in the telephoto class, I would sure like to see and hear more about it. Is it a superior lens to the 100-300? If so, cost be damned, I'm interested in it.
