I went on a hike this morning to find a shot for this thread. I turned a corner, startled a deer, and heard (for the first time in my life) a deer scream! Not only did it startle me, but it startled a bald eagle that was in a tree above me! Unfortunately, however, by the time I regathered my wits, the deer had fled, the eagle had reperched where I couldn't see it, and I was left with no images. On the other hand, I'm thankful I didn't wet myself, and got an interesting experience out of it, so thanks mu-43!

LOL there goes your winning shot. A screaming dear and screeching eagle in the same frame.

Even reading this for the second time, I still laughed! I think you deserve an honorable mention for your narrative alone.

Hello,
I'm new here, but been lurking for a while.
Thought I'd give this a go.
Taken with an old sigma 90mm 2.8 on G1

That lizard of foxtail is just amazing!

Thanks for looking

Geoff

Wild Lion, South Africa, November 2011. We watched her and she watched us for maybe 20 minutes. G1/100-300@300mm. 1/125, f5.6. Had to manually focus to keep the AF from grabbing the brush/twigs. Color is unaltered. Cropped a little off the top and bottom because the photo seemed to want to be square.
Thanked by Mellow and nueces snapper.
