Default Shutter actuations question

I can't seem able to determine the number of shutter actuations on my G3. I have used both Opanda and Irfan view and neither of them show the total pictures. Does the G3 capture that info?

How many actuations do you have?

I have no doubt that it does, but I can't tell you which software would be required to find out. Finding the service-mode is the only way I've read to find out....but I'll let someone else with more experience to chime in.

You don't need any software to display this information for Panasonic G3.
I found out (in one of the german lumix forums) the right combination of keys to access into camera info menu.

I wrote a little tutorial on my web site: tadejtrstenjak.com
Thanked by Kevin.

I read your tutorial, but don't understand what you mean by left key and right key. It would help if I had a couple of extra fingers to accomplish what should be a very simple task.

RIGHT key = WB key
LEFT key = AF MODE key

It is not simple, but it works.

Great info - thanks for this! I always wondered what my actuation count was, and now that I know it's over 19000, I'm a little depressed Anyone know the life expectancy of the G3's shutter?

Is it the same for the GX1? Or do I have to find a different combination?

I tried it last night, wasn't able to get it to work on my GX1. My hands had a hard time pressing the second combination twice though, just too small of keys. I thought I did it right a couple of times but it's hard to say.
