.. that was good , thanks for making me laugh today.

Well since we are starting to mention what we would like to see in a camera design, I want out go all out and say what i would like to see in a camera design and features that do not exist in one Micro four thirds camera.

I would love a small EVIL camera that has the viewfinder sticking out and at the back corner similar to the form of the DMC-L1 or E-330. Have an articulating rear screen. Include a sensor that is larger than the one in the DMC-GH2 so that like the GH1/2 it can go into different aspect ration modes and not loose pixel count, Yet unlike the GH1/2 it will also go into 1:1 aspect ratio without loosing pixel count, and when the camera is in No lens mode (i.e. legacy lens attached) there is an option to access and use the full area of the sensor, and support for tethered Shooting (options i don't understand why the GH1/2 doesn't have). Also a PC flash chord port would be nice, and that PC flash port and or Hot shoe triggers a flash even when the built in flash is fired. All this with also In Body Image stabilization.

Who knows maybe Kodak will get back into the interchangeable lens camera game decide to release this type of camera an call it the the Digital Signet

I'm going to give a shout out to the maligned and forgotten G2, which was my camera of choice for recording an event this morning and early afternoon. It was very sunny and contrasty, and I needed to record the activities of people building a garden in both stills and some videos. The G2 was awesome - good visibility in the EVF, easy switching from stills to videos, and good handling of contrasty scenes by switching to...(gasp)...iA!

The G2 has moved up to #1 on my list, pushing the GF1 down - at least for the type of assignment I had today. Not in a hurry for the G3 here!

Be satisfied with what you have got. There is no way of improving it other than your own technique. Its the way that you use it that counts. Modest equipment can give satisfying results.
Thanked by crsnydertx.

mick/Lumix, you are my kind of person. I am going to have to stay subscribed to this thread if only to read your kindly philosophical observations which give me a chuckle and at the same time reassurance that all is right with at least my photographic equipment.

Indeed, I am very happy with the G1 and GF1 and associated lenses and thoroughly enjoy getting them to produce a look that reflects how I see the world. It's almost like a marriage. You fall in love with someone, each take a leap of faith and "seal the deal", then work the rest of your lives making it work to each other's benefit. I feel that way with these cameras - that they are fully capable of delivering the goods, if I will take the time and invest the energy and interest and love in making it happen. Panasonic has done its part and now it's up to me.

Yep. Well said.

I am just going to chat to my wife, and explain the whole camera / marriage thing. Works for me. If I don't post for a few days, send out the rescue dudes. And bring your camera.
Thanked by pjohngren.
