Default New sensor, larger pixels :)

43 Rumors | Blog | Is that the new Panasonic GH3 17.8 Megapixel and "Micro Machined" sensor?

...and it uses Micromachined cell technology! oooh!

It's probably going to find its way into the GH3. Personally, the only spec I care about in any new sensor is the low light performance. The fact that the pixels are larger is a good sign in that regard. Otherwise, show me the camera, Panny!

A new sensor from Panasonic is very exciting news! For me the major point would be increased dynamic range. Add to that a new very advanced firmware, perhaps, courtesy of Vitaly and his team.

I think that Olympus OM-D and the expected GH3 will mark the begining of the maturity era of the m43 cameras. And let's not forget the multitude of new lenses we are expecting during the next months. What do you think?

When the dynamic range and low noise output match or exceed the Aps-c performance I think that will start to get more mainstream attention. The physical size of the cameras makes more sense for the average user than the typical dslr. AF speeds are improving to the point that parents could easily use for youth sports and pictures of children.
Thanked by speltrong.

New sensor, new screen, higher pixels, higher ISO, satnav, coffee maker, shiney, shiney, must have, must have.

It's the best camera ever. Until the next one.

Yawn.

Very true! But, from what I see, in some cases prices do come down, e.g. Oly 12mm at Amazon.co.uk
