Default Bag for G3

Hi. I have read some of the threads on the site about camera bags but wanted to ask about one specifically for my needs. I would be carrying a G3 and the following Panasonic lenses: 20 1.7, 14-45, and 100-300. Any recommendations for a small bag that is discrete and not extremely heavy that would fit these items efficiently? I would also use the bag for storage at home. Thanks.

Karen

I have several bags for my Panasonic kit. With your gear, I use the Thinktank Retrospective 5 bag. I have the Pinestone finish and really like its quality of workmanship. I also use the Lowepro Classified 160 for such a kit when I also want to carry my Ipad. Both are very nice bags and the Lowepro doubles to carry my Pentax kit when I choose to travel with that. The Classified 140 will probably hold your kit also but I do not think it will hold the Ipad also, which is why I have the 160.
I also use the Domke F5xb forr a small kit. Traveling with it right now in fact. I have the G3, 20mm, 14-45mm and a Metz flash. I think the 100-300 would fit in place of the flash but will have to check it out when I return home. I beleive I have tried it and it is a tight fit. The F5xc might be a better choice with that larger lens.

good luck deciding. Bags are a never ending quest for me.

I've got my GH2 in a Lowepro Event Messenger 150 and really like it. Plenty of room for several lenses and my iPad. It's a similar size to the Classified 160.

Another vote for the Thinktank Retrospective 5. I use it to carry my gear which is very similar to yours, G3, 25mm, 14-45mm and 100-300mm plus a few small items. Thinktank makes quality stuff.

I finally narrowed it down to the Think Tank Retrospective 5 and the Domke F-803 and ended up ordering the Think Tank 5 from B&H. Hopefully that will work out well.

Default Bag for G3?

It's too late now, but I was going to recommend a look at the Kata KT DL-HF-493 (link).
