Personally, I am doubting the EP3 RAW output will be much different from EP2/EPL (who knows until it's here, but that's my guess), but it should be better than my EP1 just by virtue of the lighter AA filter.

The thing I'm REALLY excited about is that I'll be popping off tons of pics of my kids with fast AF and the mZD45/1.8, and also the PL25/1.4 with great bokeh and background blur, and doing really fun street shooting with the 12 (instead of fiddlingwith clunky adapters and MF lenses, staring at peaking or magnified screens trying to get the shot).

If this scenario ISN'T what what the new lenses and new bodies bring to the table, then I think Oly will be in trouble, and we'll all be able to see if this is a reality or not in just a few weeks!

Sorry -- I just pretty excited over the new stuff -- the 12mm hopefully end of next week, EP3 a few weeks later, mZD45 after that -- possibly with the PL25 in there somewhere, and then the EPL3 just before the fall -- this is a fantastic time to be in m43!!!! And this is even before the "Pro bodies" which we'll likely hear about in the fall from both Panny and Oly!!!
Thanked by Armanius.

I can't verify anything but the overall E-P3 image IQ doesn't look that much different than my "tweaked" sensored E-PL2.....

The sensor may not be much of an improvement - other than the agressive NR and contrast I don't see any major advantages over my E-P2, which I'm happy enough with - but the fast focus & shutter response, better menus, controls, and a OLED screen do make it a worthy m4/3 option IMHO. Even the built-in flash is good news, although I seldom missed having one.

A sensor that was up to those on the G3 or GH2 would be very welcome, though, so I'll probably wait for an even more polished E-P4... or a worthy GF1 successor from Panasonic.
